Pencil: Draw & Be creative from your iPad

Pencil by FiftyThree, the company behind the well known iPad App Paper which allows you to sketch your ideas on your iPad is now available in Australia for the first time.

The stylus pencil allows you to simply draw on your iPad, sketch, shade, blend and erase all with the ability to rest your hands on your iPad thanks to it’s palm rejection feature. It’s one of the best tools to be creative on your iPad from rough sketching, notes to highly detailed drawings.

Design wise the Pencil is shaped with inspiration from a carpenters pencil – No rolling and a tapered tip gives it a wide range of writing, drawing and shading angles while remaining as thin as a real pencil.

The inside is where all the engineering is from the tip which lets you erase like a normal pencil, to the small Bluetooth chip allowing it to connect wirelessly to your iPad down to the battery giving it about a months battery life under one 90min charge – Impressive!

Material wise we have a few options here with three models available from the Apple Online Store. “Walnut” is made from natural hardwood timber, milled from a solid piece of premium-grade walnut, while “Graphite” model is designed in brushed aluminium and finally a all new “Gold” design making it a perfect match with the all new Gold iPad Air 2 models.

I mentioned earlier it works with their popular app Paper, the good news is it works with many more as well including a range of Adobe Apps, Procreate, Autodesk Sketchbook, Flow Paper and more.

Pencil is available from the Apple Online Store for $89.95
