Play PlayStation 4 Games From Your Mac With Remote Play

Ever find yourself fighting to have the TV to play your Playstation 4? It’s a fairly common situation especially in a family household. This can now be a thing of the past, with Sony announcing Remote Play for Mac/PC, which allows you to play your favourite Playstation 4 games from your Mac and away from the TV.

The power of PS4 streamed direct to your Mac/PC, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation TV or your Sony Xperia device.

Getting the feature to work is quite simple, all you need to do is update the software on your Playstation 4 to version 3.5 or later, and download the Remote Play Installer on your Mac. You are then able to use your Mac to play your games which are essentially streamed from your PS4 via the internet or your home network to your Mac, with support for the DualShock 4 controller via USB.

There are some limitations; first, you’ll need OS X 10.10 or OS X 10.11 installed on your Mac, and the quality of the gameplay depends on the speed of your connection. Much like YouTube, you will be able to choose the resolution of the stream including 360p, 540p or 720p (Default: 540p) along with the frame-rate of Standard (30fps) or High (60fps) (Default: Standard).
