Read Game Of Thrones With Interactive Maps, House Histories, And More

Interactive Digital editions – first it was Harry Potter with Apple teaming up with J.K Rowling to bring all seven Harry Potter books to the iBooks store with interactive illustrations, artworks and more. Now it’s Game Of Thrones with Apple and George R. R. Martin bringing enhanced editions of his best-selling books to the iBooks Store exclusively promising a new reading experience.

Taking a look at the first book A Song of Ice and Fire which is now available for purchase I can see how the interactivity will be a big benefit while reading the series. Firstly there are interactive maps and some pretty nice illustrations but there’s the ability to also track individual houses and character journey’s throughout the book. – You can even compare multiple character’s whereabouts on a map.

Martin describes these editions as being the result of us entering a new period in the history of publishing also going on to say “Anything that confuses you, anything you want to know more about, it’s right there at your fingertips. It’s an amazing next step in the world of books.”.

You can purchase book one now from the iBooks Store including the Australian iBooks Store for A$12.99 with books two to five also available for pre-order for a later release.
