Apple has delivered some impressive new features and abilities into their music-making apps, GarageBand and Logic Pro X, that will likely excite beginners to professionals.
GarageBand for iOS, which allows anyone to make music on the go, has been updated to include one of the world’s most innovative modern synthesisers – Alchemy. This includes over 150 Apple-designed patches from a range of genres. If you are someone who uses Logic Pro X on the Mac, you will now be able to use GarageBand on iPhone or iPad to remotely add new tracks to your project while away from your Mac. This new support is possible because it has been implemented using iCloud which will see the tracks sync automatically.
One of the biggest changes to Logic Pro X is a new modern interface that includes support for the new Touch Bar on the new MacBook Pro. Navigating the timeline of a project, accessing volume and other smart controls of tracks, playing the piano, or tapping on drum pads is all possible from the Touch Bar using – you guessed it… touch.GarageBand is included free with all new iOS device purchases (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) so there is a big chance you would have already received the update if you have it installed, while the update to Logic Pro X is also free for those who have purchased it.
